Rotational Crops

Rotational Crops: the list of acceptable rotational crops for acetochlor has been expanded.

Based on current crop tolerances for acetochlor, the following rotational crops are permissible for products which contain acetochlor as the only active ingredient. For the allowable rotational crops on any particular product, including those which contain other active ingredients, read and follow all pesticide label directions for that product.

  • If a crop treated with acetochlor is lost, field corn, seed corn, silage corn, popcorn, sweet corn, milo (sorghum), soybeans or cotton may be replanted immediately. Do not exceed a total of 3.0 pounds per acre of active ingredient if additional acetochlor is applied.
  • Nongrass animal feeds such as alfalfa, clover, kudzu, lespedeza, lupin, sainfoin, trefoil, velvet bean, and Vetch spp. may be planted 9 months after application. Wheat may be planted 4 months after application.
  • Rotate the next season to the following crops: soybeans, corn (all types), milo (sorghum), cotton, tobacco, sugar beets, sunflowers, potatoes, barley, buckwheat, millet (pearl and proso), oats, rye, teonsinte, triticale, wild rice, dried shelled bean group Lupinus spp. (including grain lupin, sweet lupin and white lupin); Phaseolius spp. (includes field bean, kidney bean, lima bean (dry), navy bean, pinto bean, tepary bean); bean Vigna spp. (includes adzuki bean, blackeyed pea, catjang, cowpea, Crowder pea, moth bean, mung bean, rice bean, southern pea and urd bean); broad bean (dry) chickpea, guar, lablab bean, lentil, pea (Pisum spp., includes field pea); pigeon pea.
